What is Paint Protection Film?
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a clear, protective film made from polyurethane, it is extremely durable and protects car paint form stone chips, scratches and any other contamination. Many modern films have hydrophobic properties and you will apply it to your vehicle’s paint to protect it from various types of damage – scratches, bird droppings, stone chips, parking dents, hand car wash swirls, tree sap, brake dust, etc. It can be applied on the full car, high impact areas and most vulnerable areas, partial panels or even a 10 mm strip on the door edges to protect them from chipping, the application will blend in, it will be optically clear and won’t affect the appearance at all.
Most modern films are hard wearing and self- healing with a lengthy life span. Most of the films are also UV resistant on cars. Whether it’s for protecting your vehicle or maintaining your car, there are so many benefits of Paint Protection Film.
It is becoming increasingly popular and is big in the automotive industry. Most insurance companies are aware of the product and process and have no issues adding it to your policy. If you ever need help with a car accident, we can help with that too! Here at Max Protect, we are experts, for more information and pricing, contact our team today.

What cover is the best for me?
Full coverage is always best and adds most protection to the car.
The most popular package in our shop is a Full Front Cover (bumper, bonnet, wings, head lights, door mirrors) and in most cases, people also opt in to cover the sills, leading edge or rear bumper, A-pillars and front of the roof section.
This extended front cover protects most of the vulnerable areas that usually pick up damage. If you need to drive through narrow lanes, adding doors or the full sides of the vehicle/car would make sense too.

** In most cases, the film is installed pre-cut from our custom templates and there is no need to trim it directly on the car or vehicle. In cases of really difficult panels with a lot of stretch, or something unique/ classic that has no template, we will install it in bulk, which is wrapping it on the panel in one big sheet and then trimming around edges as necessary.
How does our process compare to others?
Usually, when requesting a quote for paint protection film (PPF) installation, customers are provided with a quote based on a standard install with standard template fitment, an example of which is illustrated below:

Here you can see the standard template doesn't wrap round the full panel
Stone chips & Road debris can damage the unprotected surface.

The above images highlight why it’s so important to wrap all the edges of the vehicle, to avoid stone chip, road debris and other surface damage such as in the middle picture above.
In comparison to the above images, in the below images you can see some examples of a Max Protect UK Bespoke PPF installation:

The contrasting outcome is evident: a virtually seamless, invisible wrap!
Here at Max Protect UK, this high standard of craftsmanship is the benchmark that we set for ourselves, and in turn the highest possible level of finish which we provide for our customers. We truly believe that it is our meticulous approach and the standard we hold ourselves to which set us apart from other services in the marketplace, and we set our prices accordingly.
Is there any warranty?
For most applications we use XPEL films, which come with a 10 year manufacturer guarantee and recently we added a premium PPF to our range, for our special projects, which comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Aftercare & Maintenance
This seems to be a subject most don’t touch upon, but we believe this is where we really shine!
Modern films are pretty good already, most are self-healing, but how long will they stay looking good? Similar to the paint itself, without good maintenance, the finish will not last very long. This is where our high-performance coatings come into play! Back in 2013, we released our first flexible membrane coating that was designed specifically for PPF and vinyl applications and it has proven to be one of the most important products in our range. We also provide first class car ceramic coatings so contact us today.

Whether you have a car, truck, SUV, motorcycle, or any other type of vehicle, PPF film can be applied to protect its paintwork. Certainly! With Paint Protection Film (PPF) installed, you can confidently wash your car using your regular cleaning routine. PPF film, designed for durability, allows you to use standard car wash soaps and gentle cleaning techniques. It serves as a protective barrier, ensuring your car’s paint remains safeguarded during the washing process. While avoiding abrasive scrubbing and high-pressure washes is recommended to maximise the film’s longevity, following your normal car washing practices will keep your vehicle clean and well-protected with PPF film. Enjoy the convenience of maintaining your car’s shine while benefiting from the added protection provided by PPF.
Paint Protection Film (PPF), also known as protective film, for cars does not require any special maintenance or care beyond regular cleaning. Once installed, PPF provides a durable shield for your car’s paintwork, minimising the risk of damage from scratches, rock chips, and other external elements. You can maintain PPF by washing your car using gentle cleaning methods and standard car care products. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh brushes that could potentially compromise the film’s integrity. Otherwise, car PPF, or car paint protection film, does not demand any unique maintenance routines, allowing you to enjoy long-lasting protection for your vehicle’s paint with minimal effort.
The lifespan of Paint Protection Film (PPF) can vary depending on factors such as the quality of the film, environmental conditions, and maintenance. Generally, high-quality PPF film can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years or even longer with proper care. Regular exposure to harsh weather, sunlight, and wear and tear can gradually degrade the film over time. However, by choosing a reputable brand of paint protector film, ensuring professional installation, and following recommended maintenance practices, such as gentle cleaning and avoiding abrasive products, you can maximise the longevity of your car paint protection film and enjoy its benefits for an extended period.
Protective clear film works by creating a physical barrier between your car’s paint and potential sources of damage. The film is designed to absorb impact and prevent scratches and chips from reaching the underlying paint. It is self-healing to some extent, meaning that minor scratches can disappear with exposure to heat or sunlight.
While there are DIY kits available, it’s highly recommended to have protective clear film applied by a professional installer. Professional installers, such as Max Protect Ltd, have the experience, tools, and expertise to ensure a precise fit and a bubble-free installation. This reduces the risk of imperfections and ensures optimal protection.
